Pokemon is a franchise created by Satoshi Taijiri in 1996, and it has quickly become one of the most popular frnachises ever, and is the second most popular video game franchise ever, second place only to the juggernaut that is Mario. Over the years, Pokemon has branched out into manga, a very popular anime, and a trading card game as well.
